Connor Family History Resource

Welcome to the CONNOR FAMILY HISTORY RESOURCE where you can find information about my ancestors.

MY FATHER’S ANCESTORS – THE CONNOR FAMILY.

I have collected research material (HERE) on most of the people in my Father’s family tree (above) and, in passing, on many uncles, aunts and cousins. I have also collected research material on a few unrelated families with the same surname. This material is summarised in a single document for each person, and sorted chronologically. I will add these research summaries to the website as they are completed. Important documents of my Father’s relatives are posted HERE. Photos of relatives on my Father’s side are posted HERE. For privacy reasons, this site contains information about deceased people only.

Using the research material, I have begun writing biographies (HERE) of my direct ancestors who emigrated to Australia, or were born there, and will add these to the web site as I finish them. I may get around to writing biographies of more distant relatives as time permits. Some stories have also been contributed by other family members, and are published with their permission. You are free to use any of these, with a suitable acknowledgement if reproducing them in whole or in part.

MY MOTHER’S ANCESTORS – THE WHITING FAMILY

As with my paternal ancestors, I have also collected research material (HERE) on most of the people in my Mother’s family tree (above) and am writing biographies (HERE) of those who came to Australia or were born there. Documents concerning my Mother’s relatives are posted HERE and photos of relatives on my Mother’s side are posted HERE

An Ancestry DNA test estimates my ethnicity as being 38% from Scotland, 32% from Norman England, 13% from Celtic England, Ireland and Wales, 11% from Germanic Europe, and the remaining 6% from Sweden. Both sides of my Family Tree going back at least five generations confirm this ethnicity, with predominantly English and Scottish, a few Irish and a smattering of Dutch forebears. There are convicts and kings among them.

OTHER PEOPLE

I have begun writing biographies of other people of interest – uncles, aunts, godparents etc. – and you can find them HERE

  1. Great research and thanks for this site. I have just begun research and have traced my heritage on my grandmothers side to George Chisholm so it appears we are related!!
